How to Adjust Sliding Door

  1. HOW DO I PREVENT MY SLIDING GLASS DOOR FROM BEING LIFTED UP AND OUT OF IT’S TRACK BY A BURGULAR?
If you adjust the rollers at the bottom of the sliding glass door so the door moves upward, this will take any play out of the door
  2. HOW DO I ADJUST MY LOCKKING SECURITY BAR AFTER INSTALLATION?
After the security bar has been attached to the door and the channel it should be in the locked position, you next loosen the knob and slide it towards the center of the security bar until it stops, tighten the knob snuggly.

Make a lite pencil mark on top of the security bar at the center of the knob, and another mark 3/4″ towards the center of the security bar.

Then lift the security bar in the middle to release any tension and move the knob to the second mark. Tighten snuggly again and push the security bar back into the locked position.

Now try to open the door, if there is any play in it move the knob a little more towards the center, remembering that it has to be in the unlocked position to move.

Once you are satisfied try the security bar out by unlocking it and opening and closing the door as you would normally.

It should be ready for use now unless the security bar goes into the locked position when you shut it, if so you will need to move the knob again till it can’t lock on it’s own. Once done tighten the knob securely.

  3. DOES MY LOCKKING SLIDING GLASS DOOR SECURITY BAR EVER NEED ADJUSTMENT?
Usage and temperature changes can make the security bar need an adjustment. Just move the knob ahead 1/8″ while in the unlocked position, and tighten the knob securely. If that doesn’t do it repeat the movement of the knob until you are satisfied.
